Technical Representative

GN Thermoforming Equipment is an internationally recognized manufacturer of quality machinery and tooling for the plastics industry, presently exporting to over 70 countries. We are located 40 minutes south of the City of Halifax in the picturesque seaside community of Chester, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia.

Since our first export almost 40 years ago, we continue to enhance our product line and services to the thermoforming industry.  We are proud of our reputation of supplying our customers with quality, innovative products and excellent customer service.

We have an immediate opening in our Customer Service (Technical) Department for a Technical Representative. 

The successful candidate will be responsible to assist customers with the installation and service of GN's line of equipment, responding to customer’s training and maintenance requirements and working with all departments within GN to ensure new product development and current product lines will meet or exceed our customer’s expectations. This position requires time visiting customer sites throughout the world in combination with assisting customers from our head office in Chester, Nova Scotia.

Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in the Electro Mechanical field or equivalent work experience. Working with automation equipment would be preferred. 
  • Troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of the following systems: electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical, including troubleshooting would be an asset. 
  • Knowledge of servo motion controls would be an asset. 
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Be adaptable to various cultures and be excited to spend up to 40-50% of the year travelling throughout the world as determined by customer needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read both mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, Power Point).
  • Ability to work independently and work well within a team.
  • Comprehension of any foreign languages would be an asset.
  • Experience with plastic processing (thermoforming) equipment would be an asset.
